How to Prevent Water Damage to Your Home

Whether you are a second home owner at Lake of the Ozarks or a full time resident, there are steps you can take to Prevent Water Damage to your Home!  Too often we get calls from frantic homeowners that have discovered water damage that could have been prevented with just a little preventative maintenance.

Here are a few things we recommend to help you avoid water damage:

  1. Clean the gutters on your home.  This is not a task that anyone is excited to do, but it is a necessary task to avoid water damage to your roof AND your foundation.  Make sure all leaves are removed and direct your downspout  5-10 feet away from your house.  If you do not feel comfortable doing this task yourself, CPR offers Lake of the Ozarks Gutter Cleaning Services.
  2. Make sure the soil surrounding your home is pitched away from your house to insure the water drains away from your foundation and does not trap a pool of water that can cause damage to your structure.
  3. Test your sump pump at least once a year to make sure it is functioning properly.
  4. Check your pipes for water leaks.  Repair drips and any cracked caulking.  Even though the leak may seem minimal, this "small leak" can result in costly repairs in the long run.
Don't forget that improper drying of moisture damaged structures can result in mold growth and additional damage to the structure. Our trained technicians can extract standing water, stabilize the environment and provide structure drying services.

We pride ourselves on our outstanding customer service and attention to detail. We believe in exceeding your expectations, every time!  CPR will provide the highest level of professional service on each and every project.
